Meet the Leadership Team

Meet Denis Cleary, the Interim CEO of Metamo. Denis earned his degree in Computing and Mathematics from University College Cork before joining Fexco in 1990. He played a crucial role in developing the Dynamic Currency Conversion concept and gained valuable experience in Senior Executive Positionsduring his career with Fexco. Denis is highly skilled in product development and team leadership, and also holds a Diploma in International Sales from DIT.

Denis has a keen interest in global current affairs and enjoys Gaelic Games. Having grown up in a small rural community, Denis recognizes the pivotal role credit unions play in improving the lives of their members and the community that they serve.

Ciara Prendeville is a business leader with nineteen years of experience, starting in HR and transitioning to general management. She has a strong background in people and organisational strategy and has served as a trusted advisor to executives, enhancing workplace culture and leadership effectiveness.

As Deputy CEO, Ciara oversees the organisation’s products and services, focusing on strategic direction, innovation, and member value. She has specialised in the credit union sector for the past six years and has a deep understanding of financial services.

Academically, Ciara holds a Bachelor of Social Science and a Master’s in Human Resource Management, and she is a certified mediator (IMI), a member of the CIPD, and holds BPS qualifications in Occupational Testing.

Ciara is passionate about leadership, business transformation, and organisational growth, driving strategic initiatives that benefit the credit union sector.

Micheál became the Chief Technology Officer for Metamo in 2019. He previously held the position of Head of Infrastructure and Security at Fexco Payments and FX division. Before joining Fexco, Micheál spent a decade working for the Swiss state-owned telecom company Swisscom in Switzerland.

Clare has over 23 years of experience in financial services, specialising in the design and delivery of automated lending solutions for Personal, Retail, and Mortgage sectors in large retail banks.

Clare is an experienced lending specialist, having worked in personal, SME, Mortgage and Commercial lending in pillar and challenger banks.

She holds a B.A. in Accounting and HRM from the National College of Ireland and a QFA from the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.

Benita became the manager of Metamo’s Financial Advisory Service team in 2021. With previous experience managing AIB’s General Insurance business and EBS’s Bancassurance and general Insurance offerings, Benita brings extensive knowledge of the Insurance and Banking sectors to her role. Prior to this, she has also worked at Accenture, Bank of Ireland Life, and Irish Life. Benita holds an MSc in Financial Services from UCD, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and a Licentiate of the Institute of Bankers.
